Innovation
EXFO, founded in 1985, has enjoyed steady, phenomenal growth, and
its innovative test and measurement instruments have been very successful within the
fiber-optic industry. By setting new standards, EXFO has led the way to more powerful,
easy-to-use products; thus, its research and development personnel constantly explore new
ideas to create original test tools.
Many of EXFO's firsts obtained immediate success, such as the
VCS-20A, the first full-duplex digital talk set on the market; and the FOT-910, the first
bidirectional, automated handheld test kit. The FTB-300 Universal Test System, an
innovative product, is the smartest test set ever offered to fiber-optic professionals.
This rugged, portable UTS is a PC-based platform combined with a series of high
performance, field-interchangeable test modules.
EXFO is always seeking new ideas and in doing so has found it
beneficial to create a partnership with various university research labs, such as Laval
University, the University of Geneva, and CNET University. These collaborations enable
EXFO to approach the next millennium with confidence.
