Laser Diode,
Inc. produces advanced opto-electronic products of the highest quality across a broad
range of applications. Our global customers are successful, innovative, aggressive
companies creating systems throughout the Americas, Canada, Europe, Asia, the
Australias,
the Middle East, and Africa. Our world class manufacturing and development capability is
supported by a strong program of continuous investment in facilities, equipment, and
people. With a legacy of innovation proven over three decades, our customers can be sure
that we will be a strong partner in securing their current and future success.
Our Lightwave Products Division creates products for the demanding fiber optic
communications industry, supporting applications such as trunk and access
telecommunications, computer networks, high-performance optical test equipment, avionics,
and naval and battlefield communications. Other products include semiconductor laser
devices featuring multiple quantum well technology and produced using the latest MOCVD
processing technology. Our detectors are very high responsivity Indium Gallium Arsenide
structures manufactured to the highest technology and quality standards. We focus on the
integration of our opto-electronic devices into higher-level products that include digital
light interface modules for transmitting and receiving, PINAMPs, and PINFETs.
Our Powerpath Technology Division is a subsidiary of Laser Diode Inc. based in Sunnyvale,
California. Powerpath manufactures an innovative range of high-power, diode-pumped
solidstate lasers for industrial, medical, and scientific applications.
Our High-Power Laser Division manufactures high-energy, short pulse duration,
semi-conductor laser devices used for sensing distance or proximity. Important
applications include weapon simulation, ordnance initiation, range finding, guidance
systems, and safety systems. Laser technologies include Gallium Arsenide, multiple quantum
well structure, single emitters, or arrays. Other technologies include chip die,
sub-mounted chips, hermetic packaged lasers, and integrated hybrid laser drivers.
LDI Crystal Products is located in Metuchen, New Jersey. This division grows germanium and
GaAs crystal materials. These materials are sliced and polished to produce wafers for LED
and solar cell applications.
Laser Diode, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Crucible plc. Morgan is a global
