Princetel, Inc is a manufacturer of high-quality fiber optic components and modules.  Our current product lines consist of pigtailed laser diode/photo diode modules, receptacle laser diode/photo diode modules, turnkey laser diode light sources and other advanced components.  The company is located in the greater Princeton area in central New Jersey and serves the growing needs of a variety of industries including sensing, test & measurement, biotechnology, medicine, aerospace and telecommunications.  As part of our strategic expansion, Princetel established its state-of-the-art assembly and distribution facility in September, 2001 near Beijing, China.  We are, therefore, well positioned to provide our customers with not only short runs from our US operation, but also low-cost, long-term solutions from China.  In addition, we will continue to enhance our current product lines, as well as expand our advanced service offerings.

Product: Components
Standard, true single-mode pigtailed lasers are provided at wavelengths from 635 to 1550 nm.  Custom pigtailing service is available at wavelengths up to 1650 nm.  Princetel emphasizes high-level coupling efficiency and long-term stability in its packaging.  All major types of fibers, such as 3M 4224, Corning SMF28 and Fujikura PANDA, are available for suitable laser diodes with standard fiber termination including FC/PC, FC/APC, SC/PC and SC/APC.  Special cylindrical packages can also be provided upon request.

We take special pride in our in-line DFB laser pigtailing for the sensing industry, which requires extremely low reflection and minimal Fabry-Perot modulation.  Our proprietary design and process have enabled our customers to achieve high signal-to-noise ratio and sensitivity in their trace material detection instruments.

In addition to pigtailing, we provide standard receptacle laser diode/photo diode modules for the telecom industry.  FC, SC and ST are the three major types of packaging styles we offer. 

The company also offers a full line of standard 14-pin butterfly telecom laser diode modules from Wuhan Telecommunication Devices (WTD).  We supply common wavelengths such as 980, 1310, 1480 and 1550 nm for telecom applications.  Both FP and DFB types are available for 1310, 1480, 1550 and special wavelengths. 

Product: Drivers
Princetel also manufactures laser diode driving electronics.  980, 1310, 1480 and 1550 nm wavelengths are offered with our cooled turnkey laser diode light sources.  Both FP and DFB types are available for 1310, 1480 and 1550 nm wavelengths.  Uncooled turnkey laser diode light sources can be produced at any available wavelength, i.e., 635, 780 and 850 nm.

Board-level drivers and TEC current sources can be provided based on customer requirements.  We are also able to deliver quick turn-around times on special designs.

Service: Contract Manufacturing/Distribution
Our industry expertise and manufacturing capabilities go beyond laser diodes.  Princetel’s research labs and manufacturing facilities are equipped to develop and assemble various passive, active and hybrid fiber optic devices on the component level.  Our assembly plant in China can also handle subsystem-level products such as transmitters and receivers.

With our expert sales and marketing staff strategically positioned in China, we are capable of distributing and servicing the products of our partners, particularly those in the telecommunications industry.  Princetel is determined to be one of the front-runners in this significant emerging market.
