Sensor Physics
develops, licenses, manufactures, and markets products based on unique measurement
products technologies related to light measurement. The Company was founded in 1987. Power
and energy meter sensor products combine a unique high performance sensor design with low
cost, high-performance sensor design with low cost, high-performance electronics and novel
thermal engineering to achieve exceptional sensitivity, high peak power capability and low
cost in a very compact physical package.
Beam profilers based on standard PC hardware and cameras for the measurement of the
spatial distribution of light are made by combining contract written software
(LaserTest)
and slightly modified commercial video hardware interface boards. First products were
introduced in 1990.
A family of four basic models of Sensor Cards in formats up to 8x10 inches rely on novel
photochromic sensor technology. Three of these (the UVSC series) provide instant, high
resolution images of ultraviolet light beams. These are especially useful in semiconductor
chip fabrication utilizing UV light sources to identify and correct source illuminator and
optical train problems. Both diagnostic and routine system test of deep UV steppers have
been greatly facilitated the use of the UV SensorCards. Software (FilmScan) for both
research and clinical use enhances the quantitative use of the UV
SensorCards.
Markets:
SensorPhysics products are widely used in university and industrial research laboratories
throughout the world. A wide range of production applications include LED and
semiconductors, ink jet cartridges, CRT's, flat panel displays and multichip modules.
SensorPhysics also builds sensors and instruments for direct sale and resale. Low cost,
high-performance signal processing units are made in the United States and sold together
with sensor modules made at the Institute of Physics in Beijing. SensorPhysics sells
direct to researchers and QA groups, as well as through one of the largest laser products
catalog companies in the world.
