Valdor has
developed a breakthrough technology that dynamically wraps metal around glass. This
enabling and fully-patented technology for terminating fiberoptic connectors and splices
is called Impact Mount technology. It enables fiberoptic connectors to be terminated
faster, more easily, more reliable, with less training, less applied cost and higher
performance than any in the industry, in an automated fashion and without epoxy. Valdor's
Impact Mount technology also enables the decoupling of fiber from opto-electronic device
packaging (OEDP) which will dramatically reduce its assembly procedure. By the elimination
of epoxy in connectors, interference is reduced. And above other epoxyless connectors,
Impact Mount is simpler, quicker, and wraps metal around glass. It distinguishes itself
among other epoxyless connectors by securing the fiber tip in front in addition to
crimping at the back.
This technology is far superior to any within the market, and will positively be needed as
part of the new wave of technology - increased bandwidth and miniaturization - making
communication faster and clearer.
Dr.
Michel Rondeau, the company founder, is an innovator who has numerous patents and
extensive background in the fiberoptic field, and originally incorporated the Company in
1985. He was previously with AT&T Bell Laboratories and Bellcore. Valdor, a privately
held company, recently received funding from Advent International, one of the premier
global investment firms.
Valdor is aggressively expanding its sales and marketing efforts throughout the world.
Valdor has recently signed a Strategic Alliance agreement with Amphenol Aerospace
Operations for the Military/Aerospace market. Additionally, Valdor continues to
serve as OEM for ValQuest Medical, Inc., a joint venture with Life Quest Medical, Inc., to
do business exclusively in the medical market. Valdor's customer base includes many
Fortune 500 companies.
Not only does Valdor license its technology, but also serves the fiberoptic community by
manufacturing connectors with its Impact Mount technology and opto-electronic device
packaging using proprietary processes, and offers full support from product design and
development to production, and reacts to customer needs with immediacy.
