Corporation Announces Release of OptiSystem 2.0 Ottawa,
Canada - February 2002: Optiwave Corporation, a world leader in the
development of optical simulation software for the fiber optics
telecommunications industry, is pleased to announce the release of
OptiSystem version 2.0. OptiSystem
2.0 represents a revolutionary upgrade to an already cutting edge system
design tool. Major enhancements include an expanded component library
(over 200 modules), improved UI functionality, enhanced library
management, expanded graph views, and new path creation and path tracing
tools. All
library components in OptiSystem 2.0 have been tested in order to deliver
results that are comparable to real-life applications. The improved
interface allows for synchronized panels, drag and drop selection of
graphs for viewing, and auto-connection of components in project layouts. Management
of libraries is facilitated as users can enable/disable component
libraries to maximize memory resources. Single components or entire
component libraries can be imported into a system without restarting the
application. Moreover, the expanded graph views provide several graphical
representations of the project, including multiple curves on one graph,
multiple curves on a 3D surface graph, and 3D graphs with a 3-dimensional
image of graph data. The new path creation tool allows users the
flexibility to specify the start and end components. The path creation
tool then creates the path intuitively. Users can also trace any signal
value along a specified path. The path-tracing feature allows users to
define a path through several components, creating multi-colored paths for
easy identification. Today’s
