Research Electro-Optics, Inc. Introduces Wavelength Lockers
Produced in a Manufacturing Alliance with the Horizon Photonics Subsidiary of LighPath Technologies, Inc.

BOULDER, CO, -- Research Electro-Optics, an industry-leading supplier of passive and active optical components, optical sub-assemblies and thin-film coatings to the telecom market, announces the introduction of wavelength lockers being produced in a partnership with the Horizon Photonics subsidiary of Lightpath Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: LPTH).

Research Electro-Optics (REO), has teamed with Horizon Photonics, a recognized leading value added supplier of passive optical components to deliver front-facet and rear-facet wavelength lockers for use in tunable laser packages and wavelength monitor applications. REO produces the integrated beamsplitter/etalon optical subassembly using its proprietary optical fabrication, optical contacting, and thin-film coating capabilities. Horizon Photonics then utilizes its patented manufacturing platforms to integrate this optical subassembly into a finished and tested assembly ready for insertion in the customer’s package. REO and Horizon Photonics offer a standard wavelength locker product, as well as lockers specifically designed per unique customer requirements. The wavelocker product line features an adhesive free optical path.

"We are excited to announce this new line of products, as well as our phenomenal relationship with Horizon Photonics. We believe the partnership brings together complementary technologies that are not available to the market in any other form.  By working together, we provide potential customers with a legitimate source of leading edge optical products and demonstrated volume manufacturing capabilities, which can ensure superior product performance and quality in the volumes anticipated in this growing market, " stated Rick Strandlund, President of Research Electro-Optics.

"We are delighted to be partnered with REO in this endeavor. The two companies have very complimentary technologies. We have thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration as we designed the initial subassemblies, interfaced with our first significant customers, and took the ultimate design wins to manufacturing at our facilities. We are now shipping in ramping volumes to two customers, and we are encouraged by the sampling efforts of a few others," stated Bob Cullen, President of Horizon Photonics and Executive Vice President of LightPath Technologies Inc.
