Thorlabs announces opening of tokyo office

 Thorlabs Inc., a leading manufacturer of innovative photonics products, announces the opening of a new sales office in Tokyo, Japan.  Mr. Tetsuya Nakai will head up the new office.  Mr. Nakai’s previous relationship with Thorlabs as a managing director of  KDD FiberLabs and his extensive experience in the area of rare earth optical fiber devices makes him ideally suited to the position.

Alex Cable, President and CEO of Thorlabs, said of the new venture, “This office will be a crucial part of our strategy to develop a strong presence in Asia, and we are excited to continue working with Tetsuya, in a greater capacity than ever before.”

The Japanese office will handle sales and customer service for all of Asia, including China and Korea.   The ability of this new office to handle technical support questions during the Asian business day will greatly benefit the Thorlabs customers in this region.
