Technology advances Fiber and Connector inspection with the economical
CCMeasureTM Core Concentricity Measurement System Thousand
Oaks, CA Tamar Technology is pleased to introduce the CCMeasureTM,
to the fiber optics and fiber connector manufacturing marketplace.
CCMeasureTM is a low-cost, advanced machine vision based
metrology tool for measuring core concentricity on fibers and fiber
connectors. It is unique in
that it utilizes Tamars patented EtherGlowTM illumination
technology, for a high contrast and accurate image of the fiber core,
cladding, and sheath in reflection. Traditional
methods involve illuminating the fiber from behind (transmission), which,
due to light scatter, can result in an inaccurate representation of the
core position. Tamar
Technologys Vision Metrology Image Processor (VMIP) uses advanced
signal processing techniques to measure the core concentricity within in
the field of view, thus eliminating the need for costly and maintenance
intensive mechanical components. CCMeasureTM
lowers systems costs, improves accuracy, and is
flexible and easy to use. CCMeasureTM measures core
concentricity to cladding, core to sheath, and core to the ID of the
ferrule, and provides a Pass/Fail tolerance check, along with measured
results, statistics, and export options.
Future versions will have special tooling that will allow
the concentricity to be measured to the outer diameter of the ferrule. CCMeasureTM
ships complete with one fiber inspection microscope and video camera, one
fiber connector adapter, EtherGlowTM illumination, the latest
Windows 2000 computer with CCMeasureTM software, and capture
